Me You Everyone: rights and responsibilities: Human Rights Education in the Primary School

Summary

‘Me, You, Everyone’ is the third book in the LIFT OFF Initiative, a comprehensive human rights education programme for primary schools. This resource promotes and supports human rights education for 5th and 6th class (Republic of Ireland) and Primary 6 and 7 (Northern Ireland) pupils. It is designed for use as a follow-on from ‘Lift Off’ (the second resource in this series), but can also be used as a self-contained resource. Description

There are ten units in this resource, with a range of activities in each unit. The resource is structured so that each unit builds on the learning and language of the previous unit, however, teachers can also dip in and out of it and adapt the units to further suit their learners’ needs.
Each unit contains teacher notes, background information, and clearly laid out learning objectives. A list of necessary resources is provided along with posters and worksheets.  Two or three activities are then detailed which are aimed at extending and deepening children’s understanding, attitudes and skills in relation to each unit and its objectives. Optional extension activities are offered to extend learning into other curricular areas, whole school activities and inter-school links.

Suggested Use
