(It is essential that single-sex schools do some of this work with partner schools of the opposite sex.)
- Students distinguish between the words “sex” and “gender”.
- Students examine their own attitude to gender stereotyping.
- Students perceptions of gender stereotyping are challenged.
- Students carry out research on how gender affects their life choices.
- Students read case studies and discuss how gender affectes life choices/opportunities.
- Students consider the differences in opportunities for women.
- Students examine the issue of Gender-Based Violence.
- Students create a poster on the issue of Gender Based Violence.
- Students are presented with a fact-sheet on Sexual health as an introduction to case study on Female Genital Mutilation as illustrated in the film "Moolade"
- Students debate the issues raised in the film using the film review worksheet.
