Source Countries

“As with countries of asylum, the top countries of origin of refugees were located in developing regions. The majority of these countries have been the most common countries of origin for at least five years, including Afghanistan, which has been a major country of origin for over 33 years. Combined, the top 10 source countries for refugees accounted for 76 per cent (12.2 million) of the global refugee population under UN Refugee Agency’s mandate.”
